The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra HDs – the latest heavy duty trucks from General Motors – have been officially introduced. These trucks are slated to start selling in early 2014, mirroring their 1500 counterparts. The difference is that they are fitted with a power-dome hood, bigger grilles and a one-piece chrome front bumper. In addition, the models will feature a CornerStep rear bumper and an EZ Lift and Lower tailgate. The entry-level models have the basic equipment but then the top-of-the-line Sierra Denali has a unique grille, LED-infused headlights, body-color bumpers and a polished stainless steel exhaust tip (on petrol models). Furthermore, the model comes with premium leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, a Bose audio system and an Intellilink infotainment system with GPS navigation.

These trucks are offered with various engines, which include a 6.0-liter Vortec V8 petrol or bi-fuel engine with 360 bhp (268 kW) and 380 lb-ft (515 Nm) of torque in the 2500 HD and 322 bhp (240 kW) and 380 lb-ft (515 Nm) of torque in the 3500 HD.

GM is also offering a 6.6-liter Duramax V8 diesel with 397 bhp (296 kW) and 765 lb-ft (1,037 Nm) of torque.

When it comes to capability, the trucks offer a top-of-the-class payload capacity of 7,374 lbs (3,345 kg) as well as a conventional trailering rating of 19,600 lbs (8,890 kg) that’s also at the top of its class.
